Day 5 – Spirit
Romans 8:3-4 (NKJV) “For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”
The moment we accept Jesus as our Savior our spirits come alive as the breath of His Spirit is breathed into us. The Spirit enables us to know and experience God on a deeper, intimate level, since God is Spirit we need to worship and communicate in the spirit to experience everything He has for us. John 4:24 (NKJV) “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
Believers and unbelievers are separated by the spirit as our spirits will be witnesses to whom we love and obey. Romans 8:16 (NKJV) “The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,”
Our prayer, relationship, and commitment to God will manifest through the Spirit in our lives as we are continually reminded that we have been saved by Grace and given the Spirit to aid us in our weaknesses. Ephesians 2:4-5 (NKJV) “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),“
John 16:13 (NKJV) “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”
John 14:26 (NKJV) “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.“
Keep yourself spiritually fit by staying in the Word and prayer!
1 Timothy 4:8 (AMP) “For physical training is of some value, but godliness (spiritual training) is of value in everything and in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.”
Prayer: Holy Spirit we invite you into our hearts today, to aid us in our weakness and to teach and guide us all things we need to know. As we surrender our three-part man to You today, help us to stay in the Word, Your truth only. Amen.
