Dancing to the right music – Day 1

The sound of pleasing people
Colossians 1:13 (AMP)” For He has rescued us and has drawn us to Himself from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,”
She was beautiful & pure but – saddened and unsure.
As the music played, she would perform – while fighting inside a huge storm.
Around and around, she would go – all just for the show.
Even though surrounded by riches and gold – her value was left untold.
Incaved in darkness she would be – until a saviour came and set her free!
I remember how I loved my jewellery box as a little girl. I would open it several times a day just to listen to the music and look at the beautiful ballerina turning around and around as the music played. I dreamt about being a ballerina dancing on a stage but never about being one in a jewellery box – our dreams have a way of turning out much different than planned and here I find myself being that ballerina. But not the one on the stage. The one in the box!
Pleasing people can be compared to a ballerina in a jewellery box; when the music plays the show is on but when the cover is closed, and the music stops: we find ourselves in a dark and lonely place.
Come and join me on this journey as we allow God to teach us to dance to the right music again!
Prayer: Lord, as we embark on this new journey, I pray that You will open our hearts to receive the truth and apply it to our lives. Thank You that You are the only one that can save us from this dark place of trying to please people. Help us to open our hearts and our ears again to the music of Your heart and Your will for our lives. Amen.
