Dancing to the right music – Day 12
Trust
Psalm 9:10 (KJV) “And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.”
Trusting has always been hard for me, and it was difficult facing it while dealing with people-pleasing. It is not easy to trust again after you have been hurt and yes, even our trust in God is crippled by this. Letting go is part of trusting, somehow hanging onto things makes us feel in control a little, but the moment we need to let go completely, we lose control but gain freedom.
Let us be honest: trusting is not easy. Especially if we use humans as our reference point. I had to learn not to compare God to humans because His ways and thoughts are much higher than what I could understand. Trusting has nothing to do with feelings. If we are to trust God – we need to trust Him in spirit. Knowing that He will never fail us.
Hebrews 13:8 (AMP) “Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever.”
God is always the same and He stays true to His promises, a testimony I can give you today. My heart and life have always been safe with Him, and He has always kept to His promises. Even if the outcomes were much different than what I had in mind. Trusting God is a choice: letting go of the fear and allowing Him to control and guide your life. This happens when you surrender before Him and allow the truth of His word to saturate every part of your life.
Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV) “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
God is for you, and He wants you to trust Him with everything. Allow Him in today and let go. Start experiencing the freedom of His power in your life.
Prayer: Father God it is hard to trust, I ask that you help us to let go and give it all to You. You never fail us or leave us and when we truly understand and believe You are capable of handling our hearts and our situations, we will experience freedom and overcoming. Amen
