Dancing to the right music – Day 5

Unworthiness

Psalm 139:17-18 (KJV) “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.”

Rejection gives birth to a new song we hear over and over in our minds – “I am not good enough”! Feeling unworthy all the time causes us to start seeking our value in other people. If we please and perform as they expect; we might get applause and the cover might stay open longer this time.

“Fear of man is the enemy of the fear of the Lord. The fear of man pushes us to perform for man’s approval rather than according to God’s directives.”  Paul Chappell

We fear rejecting others because we fear being rejected. Somehow giving in and saying “yes” all the time, with the hope to feel worthy again. Unworthiness does not come from God; it is a feeling and a lie the enemy uses to gain entrance into our minds and hearts.

As you face this giant of not feeling good enough, I want to encourage you with this word today: Joshua 1:9 (NLT) This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord, your God is with you wherever you go.”

God is asking you to be strong and to know that He is with you, wherever you are and whatever you are facing. Place your trust in Him today, asking Him to re-establish Your worth. Find a new song to sing – look up scripture confirming your worth in Him and allow this Word to override the lies of the enemy in your mind.

Prayer:  Father God, we thank You today for revealing the truth and helping us to deal with it. I pray for every person feeling unworthy today, please establish their worth in You Lord, and break the hold of fear in their lives in the Name of Jesus today. Amen
