Dancing to the right music – Day 9

Fear of God

Proverbs 1:7 ESV “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

The liar has been exposed and the faces of fear have been addressed. The final part of this devotional is learning to dance to the right music again, identifying the face of God through Jesus that will lead us to fear Him again. To fear Him, we need to know Him, once we know Him, we will have the knowledge and power to change the songs we dance to!

Ecclesiastes 12:13 (KJV) “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”

Let us talk about fear for a moment. Fear that entraps us originate from lies. Fear that sets us free originates from God.  The only way to get out of the “jewellery box” onto the stage of freedom and overcoming is by choosing which fear you will allow reflecting over your heart and mind. The choice remains yours.

The face of God is Jesus Christ. The perfect sacrifice invites the following truths into our lives: acceptance, worthiness, trust, authority, and the Word of God.  Ask Holy Spirit to open your heart and mind to receive these truths about God and yourself. You must believe that He exists and that He is your rewarder. Seek Him, nothing else. You must believe in the overcoming power Jesus received on the cross and that it is available to all those that believe and follow Him.

Hebrews 11:6 (ESV) “And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

Prayer: Lord, thank you that fearing You brings knowledge and freedom. Holy Spirit please help us to clean our hearts and minds of any remaining lies and allow our spiritual ears and eyes to be opened in the next few days to receive Your Word and songs over our lives. Help us to seek You and draw near to you. Amen
