Day 1 – Because of a Testimony

“Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” John 4:39 (NIV)

Under the scorching sun, we find a woman burdened with waterpots making her way to Jacob’s well on the outskirts of Samaria. But the weight of the pots is nothing in comparison to the weight of her heart. As she reached the well, a man sat opposite her. I can imagine the thoughts running through her mind as she might have wished she made her journey unnoticed. But this man was not familiar to her. It wasn’t someone from town and could maybe just be a Hebrew traveller asking her for water. Why would He journey through Samaria? Were they not supposed to be enemies? But the man engaging in conversation revealed something other than just conversation… His words penetrated her soul breaking chains of past hurts and disappointments whilst flooding her with Living water. All shame and guilt that kept her from society disappeared in an instant and with new zeal she could not contain what happened to her and ran to town.

If it wasn’t for her testimony, many Samaritans might have never believed in Jesus. Because of your testimony, someone might believe…

Testimonies are not just stories; they are powerful sources of encouragement that highlight the miracle-working power of God. For February, we have asked a few women to share their testimonies to inspire and encourage others. A testimony has the power to glorify God for who He is through praise and by sharing His grace through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We hope that you will find encouragement through these testimonies that speak of God’s goodness and love.

Prayer: Father, bless each woman who bravely shared their testimony and bless those who read it. May they see the power of Your hand and goodness in every word shared. Thank You for the opportunity to share these beautiful stories of courage, healing, salvation, provision, and providence. Amen.

Love, Pastor Iriza
