Day 11 – In agreement (Part 2)
Anonymous continues, “After apologizing to God, I said it to Him in my thoughts so that it would be something only between God and me. Not even the devil would know about it since he cannot read our thoughts like God does.
I said to God, “You know, I never asked your opinion if we should sell our asset. I took it for granted that since my husband and I agreed to it, You were too. I’m sorry about that Lord, but I would like to fix that now. Please Lord, if it is your will that we are meant to sell this asset, please give me a Word from your scripture in the next 24 hours. In your scripture may it be any story in the Bible, as long as it has the words selling or sold in. Any story that refers to a sale taking place in the Bible.”
Later, I was in bed and the Holy Spirit said to me, “You know, you never going to find an answer in the scriptures as you asked if you don’t open your Bible!” I opened my Bible app, and it was on the book of John, chapter 1. I read about John the Baptist; the next chapter carries on about Jesus’ first recorded miracle when He turned water into wine at a wedding. Jesus then decided to return to Jerusalem for the Passover. When Jesus arrived at the temple, he saw people had created a marketplace at the temple and they were SELLING all sorts of things.
My first confirmation of the word SELLING that I asked for. I continued reading, Jesus got so angry he chased the people out and turned their tables. Then Jesus went to those who SOLD doves. My second confirmation: the word SOLD! Wow! God was so loving towards me that He responded way sooner than the 24-hour deadline (if I may call it so!)
Praise the Lord, He agrees with us selling our asset, but it must be according to His will – which means His timing. I needed to learn what I encourage others to do when they are going through difficult waiting periods. I need to understand that God does give us the desires of our hearts but according to His will. I’m not going to take matters into my own hands, I’m not going to fret about it, all I am going to do is TRUST Him to bring us the right buyer that will pay the right price for that asset. He is Jehovah Jireh, the provider. So, I will trust in God, my saviour the One, who will never fail.”
Prayer: Father, You are faithful and true to Your Word and promise. Thank You for giving us confirmation when we need assurance from You and thank You for teaching us to always look to You for agreement before making choices. Amen.
