Day 12 – A mother’s faith

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8

Josephine bravely gives this testimony, “People always describe a mother as one of the strongest human beings on earth. But are we really? My answer to that is: Yes! Yes, we are. Because we have our Lord with and beside us. He is our strength, our living support, and our daily bread as it stands in the Bible. We are strong because we believe in Him, and we trust him one hundred percent.  As a mother, I can give testimony to His Greatness, His Gentleness, His Miracles, and His whole Being.  Without Him, my life would have been a black empty void.

I had the honour and privilege to care for my father for seven years. With every obstacle that crossed our paths during said years, the Lord was with us. He calmed me and gave me the knowledge of how to deal with everything. He never left my side during fun times, good, and bad days.  He provided when the need was there, in ways I can’t describe. He was just there.

With my dad’s passing, He gave me and my son strength to grieve, to accept and to celebrate my dad’s life.

Only to pull the rug from underneath me exactly three months later. It was His will that my son had to be in a horrific head-on collision, but He kept His promise to me: “I will never forsake you, my child…”  To know my only child, may leave this earth at any moment, without me as his mother, anywhere near him, broke my heart.” To be continued…

Prayer: Father, we all know the feeling too well when it feels like the whole world has come to a standstill for us and the first thing we think is “Where are You, God?” But You, Lord, are true to Your word and promises and we are grateful that You are our loving Father. Amen.
