Day 17 – Space Out Your Holiday Obligations

“Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For I trust in You. Teach me the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You. Rescue me, O Lord, from my enemies; I take refuge in You. Teach me to do Your will [so that I may please You], For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” Psalms 143:8-10

We get our minds ready for action in the knowledge that every meeting of people brings challenges, it is the nature of us being created unique and different. To alleviate the stress this causes, we have the ability to decide on dates and times and need not fall into the trap of guilt, but preserve our hearts, for from it flow our lives.

Prayer: Lord, make our hearts calm and minds clear whenever we want to fall into the trap of feeling obligated or guilty, for these are not Your ways. Let Your peace be our guide as we navigate the throngs of expectations and people pleasing and may the power of obedience have the victory, for it brings the ultimate peace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
