Day 2 – Falling short
“since all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God, and are being justified [declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God, and granted eternal life] as a gift by His [precious, undeserved] grace, through the redemption [the payment for our sin] which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,” Romans 3:23-24 (AMP)
Our love is marked with limits, judgment, and discrimination. We decide who is worthy of our love, who fits the profile and deserves it.
Truth be told, none of us are worthy and deserves love. So, in fact, we are all the same.
Romans 3 verses 23 to 24 clearly shows everyone falling short of the Glory of God and that all have been saved by undeserved grace through Jesus paying for our sins.
What gives us the right to have selective love if God had an all-inclusive love for us as sinners by giving Jesus?
The world has become more and more judgemental and cold; mankind is hurting in many ways, and I believe all of these things come from one place – a lack of love—a lack of accepting the unconditional love of God and being able to love others the same way.
“The self-righteous scream judgments against others to hide the noise of skeletons dancing in their own closets.” ― John Mark Green
For today, think about the ones you struggle to love and determine why? Is there any judgment and discrimination in your heart about loving them?
Prayer: Father God, forgive us for loving from a place of judgment. We all fall short of the Glory of God. We sin daily, Father God, but You still love us enough to look at us through the blood of Jesus, and we should do the same to others. Help us through Your Spirit to get rid of self and become full of You. Amen.
