Day 2 – Recognize & Know God
BE STILL
Psalm 46:10 (AMP) “Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth.”
Do we really have the ability to be still? I had a huge battle in my heart regarding being still. I know God’s word is clear that we need to come to a place of rest but how is it possible when life is sometimes so demanding and tiring?
Psalm 46:10 gives us a clear indication that being still and knowing God walks hand in hand.
If we truly know and understand who God is, being still will become a crucial part of our lives and we will understand that coming to a place of rest is a form of worship and submission to God.
Recognizing the sovereignty of God guides us into this place of rest heart, mind, and soul. We can only come to a place of rest in this new year if we truly understand that God loves but also is mighty, powerful, and expectant of our obedience and submission to Him, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.
Henrico and Anja Worship launched a new song during December 2021– “Goud, Wierook en Mirre” (Gold, Frackensence, and Myhr) – as I listened to this song, the greatness and sovereignty of God struck my heart and I knew there was nothing of myself that was good enough to give to God, expect my humbleness and stillness before His greatness. I have shared the link and encourage you to listen to this song and in a moment of stillness recognize once again that He is God and exalt Him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZzTfvWk6Ak
Prayer: Holy Spirit please guide us in understanding once again how great and mighty God is, help us to acknowledge His sovereignty, and humble ourselves before Him. With a new year ahead, help us to see being still as a form of worship and submission, helping us reach the point of resting a while in Father God. Amen
