Day 2 – Your presence and the hope of Your calling

Exodus 3:10-14 “And now come, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt … and you shall say, I AM has sent me to you.”
Let’s explore what God’s presence meant to various individuals. Moses was such a person who had a personal relationship with God Almighty, and God spoke to him as with a friend. Moses would meet with the Lord, and the Lord would speak to Moses. It’s not that God didn’t want to speak with every Hebrew in the camp – they were afraid of His presence and chose to rather hear His message from Moses.
Moses first encountered this precious presence of the Almighty from as young as three months, when God had given his parents wisdom in protecting him from the murderous edict of Pharoah, then protecting him from the dangers of the mighty Nile. During his childhood and young adulthood in the courts of Pharoah, he experienced the presence of the God of Israel in a certain calling that burned in his spirit. In his heart, Moses knew what the hope of this calling was before his natural mind grasped it. This was his calling, his God-given purpose: to eventually lead his people out of slavery from Egypt.
Yes, this is the impact of God’s presence. Do you know what you are called to do?
Prayer: Eternal Father, I am encouraged by Moses’ life story. How precious the thought that You have a unique purpose for me to accomplish here on earth, and that, just like Moses and countless others, I don’t need to be perfect to live out this calling. Thank you for Your presence; reveal Yourself to me today, I pray. Amen.
