Day 4 – Rise up and fly like an eagle

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

Did you know that an eagle’s eyesight is eight times stronger than a human’s? Their grip is ten times stronger than the average human, and they are smart. They use clever methods to hunt and catch their prey. They are the symbol of courage, power, and freedom.  When you take these facts into account, this promise we have in Isaiah becomes so much more powerful.

We see that those who wait upon the Lord are not just made stronger, but ten times stronger, like the eagle. Their eyesight is improved, and they become smarter to be able to provide and follow their instinct, which is the voice of the Holy Spirit. You see spiritually, when you wait upon the Lord, you will become an eagle. You will become free, powerful, and courageous.

In Deuteronomy 31:11, the Lord is compared to an eagle. He explains that he also takes his children on his wings, like an eagle. He protects them like the eagle protects their young. Just like this, he will also protect you. He will not let anything happen to you. When you wait upon the Lord, he promises to renew your strength, and let you run without becoming weary. He lets you walk without becoming faint and he lets you rise up, like an eagle and fly.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for this promise of new strength. I want to wait upon You, and your guidance. Please help me to be able to wait for you and not get impatient. I trust you to give me an eagle’s wings and the strength to fly. Amen.
