Day 5 – Rise up, rise above.

“Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 (KJV)

Have you ever felt like you can be more than what you are? Maybe you feel like you are more than your circumstances, or you have more to give than you are currently giving. You might feel like you are not currently living your full potential, and you can do more. I believe these feelings are natural and that they come from the Holy Spirit. We are made to be more than we could have ever imagined. We think small and dream small because one can only dream and live as far as one understands and comprehends.

If we give over to God, however, he can dream for us. He can dream and inspire us to reach far more and greater things than we could have ever imagined. If we give Him full authority in our lives, He will do exceedingly and abundantly more than what we could have even imagined, as in this verse from Ephesians.

I have experienced this in my life when I was up against more qualified candidates for jobs, but then I got the job. Where I was not the best but was still chosen. The only conclusion I have for this happening over and over in my life is that the Lord was taking me above all that I was asking. Praise the Lord for letting us rise up and rise above what we think is good enough.

Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for taking me higher and wanting better for me than I can even imagine. Thank you for Your power that works in us. I give you the glory. Please help me to always remember that everything I have is grace and mercy from your hand, and I don’t deserve any of it. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
