Day 6 – In Your presence is fulness of joy!

 2 Samuel 6:14  “And David danced before the Lord with all his might.”

David experienced the presence of the Lord and with it an enthusiastic joy that was so great that it was worth mentioning in the Bible.

Scripture tells us this beautiful story of celebration: The ark of the Lord, carrying the Lord’s presence, was brought back to the City of David where it belonged, and this is the impact that it had wherever it went: “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-edom, because of the ark of God.” When the Ark arrived, David “danced with all his might … leaping and dancing”; the whole house of Israel participated “with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet”. What a joyous sight that must have been!

Where God’s presence is, the atmosphere changes. Peace, blessing, healing, and joy abound! What is the secret to speaking a timely word to someone, which turns out to be a defining moment on their journey, perhaps saving them from eternal destruction? Wherein lies our confidence to face the lion and the bear; to choose the high road instead of the easy way? It is found in Christ, through whom we can do all things – His presence.

Prayer:  Dear God, allow me to experience joy as I enter into Your presence with praise from my heart. I know that David had a personal relationship with You, and this joy sprang from that relationship. Create in me a desire to know You intimately, Lord. Amen.
