Day 7 – Ambition & endeavor to live at peace
NEED OF NOTHING

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 (AMPC)  “To make it your ambition and definitely endeavor to live quietly and peacefully, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we charged you, So that you may bear yourselves becomingly and be correct and honorable and command the respect of the outside world, being dependent on nobody [self-supporting] and having need of nothing.”

God is calling on His children to make it an ambition to live quietly and peacefully. As we come to the end of our devotional about resting a little while, I do believe that Holy Spirit has spoken to your heart and that you are encouraged to make time for resting in His presence.Once a child of God, we too become representatives of His Kingdom. What do people see and experience when they are around you? Do they see the rest and peace of God in you or a lot of turmoil, words, bitterness, and different characters depending on the crowd?

I believe God is serious about resting for all the reasons we have discussed the past few days, but the most important one of all is found in  Thessalonians 4:11-12 today. Once we really come into His rest, we will bear ourselves becomingly and honorable and will gain respect as we reflect God in everything we do.

I want to encourage you today, to rest a little while in the presence of God constantly during 2022 and the years to follow. There is a lot of power in making the decision to live quietly and peacefully because during these resting times we are equipped for whatever is coming. May 2022 be a year where you rest a little while in the presence of God and regain your confidence and trust in who He is and not in what your capabilities are.

Prayer: Holy Spirit thank You for being the after teacher of every word and revelations shared over the past few days. Make it our desire and ambition to live quietly and peacefully in your presence constantly. Amen.

We would love to pray with you www.prayer@womenoftheword.co.za
