Holy Spirit – Day 15 – Praying in the Spirit
Praying in the Spirit
Ephesians 6:18 “Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints.”
Personally, what I love the most about the Holy Spirit is that He is forever with me; and that I am never alone. No wonder Jesus called Him the Comforter. He brings comfort in the knowledge that whatever the size of the task, or the impossibility of a restored relationship, or the toughness of the persecution, He is right here. Not only that He eternally abides within His children; He provides timely counsel, wisdom, strength, peace, whatever the need may be.
The times we’re living in, are getting increasingly more difficult. Paul urges us to pray in the Spirit, in our heavenly language on every occasion. This is one of the many privileges, perks if you will, of every born-again believer, to have direct access to God in a language that neither we nor the enemy understands. But the amazing thing is that when we pray in the Spirit, He prays on our behalf and the will of God is carried through in the circumstance. What a wonderful Comforter!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me the Holy Spirit; thank You for an eternal Standby, Helper, Counsellor in my life. Holy Spirit, I welcome You to speak to me and to remind me of Your presence every moment of the day. Amen
