Words – Day 11
Words Attract – Declare
“When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.” 1 Corinthians 2:13
Have you ever heard Christians talking (or praying) “I declare and decree”? These two words have distinctly different meanings and by understanding what they mean, we can use them powerfully in the correct context. There is value in declaring the truths of the Word when they are properly understood as actually applying to us. The Word was written for me and you.
Declare comes from the Hebrew Achvah – meaning to make known. Declarations are what we speak into the atmosphere, making know what we already have possession of. We can declare our righteousness, our salvation, eternal victory and our relationship with God. For example: “I declare that You, God are my Father. I declare my righteousness by my salvation and eternal victory through Jesus Christ, Your Only Son Whom You send because You love me.”
Declarations don’t make God act or do anything. You are declaring with your voice – your own words – what is already true! Like shouting from the Rooftops that you belong to God and the promises He has for you. I like to think I’m reminding the enemy to who I belong, what my promises are and that my future is eternal.
I declare that my mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendour all day long. (Psalm 71:8)
Prayer: I declare I am a daughter of the Most High King, Yahweh. I am made righteous by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, His Only Son. Because of Jesus’s unstoppable love for me, I have victory over my enemies! I am the head and not the tail. I am the apple of God’s eye. God is my Father, my Strong Tower, my eternal King and I have eternal life because I am Loved by the Author of the Universe. Amen.
