By the Power of Words

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit” Proverbs 18:21

Words become things – it has a spirit. God did not ‘think’ creation into existence. He spoke – and through the power of the Spirit of His Words – you are here reading this devo today. God breathed His spirit into the first human, and since then, humanity became master craftsmen of their tongues.

Your tongue is the most powerful weapon you have – in spiritual warfare or in day to day conversations. Your future is in the power of your tongue – but so is the futures of others too. Our words can attack them just as much as it blesses them.

Do you choose to love the attacking fruit or the attracting fruit of your tongue? Your words will reap a harvest either way, but what you will have in your cornucopia, is what your tongue has sown.

Prayer: Father, I understand the importance of my words and what I sow with my tongue will be the harvest I reap. Please magnify the importance of the power of my words and the impact it will have on me and others before it leaves my tongue. Amen.
