Words – Day 23 by Iriza
Words from the Heart
“For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks” Matthew 12:34b
When we meditate on God’s Word, we do so to capture His Word to our hearts – to bring it into unity with our soul. Our feelings influence our mouths, meaning the meditation of your heart does not align with your words. So, we rest in what we feel in our hearts instead of taking authority over our hearts with our words. The secret is: because of the power God has given your words, you can alter what your heart is feeling by speaking the Word of God to it. Circumcising the negative feelings from the heart and replacing them with promises given by God.
When you had a tough day – anything and everything went wrong – you are most likely to say that it wasn’t a good day. Instead, rather say: “And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness” (Genesis 1:4). Everything God created was GOOD. The light He created with His Word – was GOOD. Speak to your heart: “It was a GOOD day” and ask the Holy Spirit to separate the light from the dark in the situations causing you to think it wasn’t a good day.
Fill your heart with the abundance of God’s Word. God’s word is near us, we should fill our hearts with it daily. (Deuteronomy 30:14)
Prayer: Father, I ask that You give me scripture to speak to my heart when the mediation of my heart and mouth doesn’t align with Yours. Fill my heart with Your Word, Lord, so that my mouth can freely speak of what is in my heart. Amen.
