Shiprhah

Shiprhah was one of the midwives instructed by Pharaoh not to let Hebrew boys live.

What a terrible instruction and it must have caused a lot of distress, worry, and fear for these women.

In a fallen world, it is not uncommon for there to be pressure to do unscrupulous things. Pressures from a boss to cook the books, or from a friend to “tell a white lie”.

What we learn and the encouragement here is to honor God in what is right despite the price. The scripture tells us this pleases God and He made it work out for them. God will give you the wisdom to handle it the right way and say what you need to.

Prayer: Father, I want to honor You in everything and please You rather than man. If I am faced with pressures to do wrong things, please give me the courage, wisdom, and words to handle things in a way that puts You first. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.
