Day 122 – Faithful regardless of the response
Study Luke 10:10-16
“He who hears you hears Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.” Luke 10:16
Jesus knew that not everyone would welcome the message of the seventy disciples. Some towns would receive them with joy, while others would reject them completely. He prepared His followers for this reality before they ever encountered it.
The disciples were instructed not to take rejection personally. They were representatives of Christ. When people rejected their message, they were ultimately rejecting the One who had sent them. This truth would protect them from both discouragement and pride.
Jesus also issued a sobering warning to the cities that rejected Him. Places like Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum had witnessed extraordinary displays of God’s power, yet many still refused to believe. Greater opportunity brought greater responsibility. The more truth a person receives, the greater their accountability before God.
For us, this passage carries an important reminder. Our responsibility is faithfulness, not results. We cannot force someone to accept Christ. We cannot change hearts. Only God can do that. Our task is to faithfully represent Jesus, speak His truth, and leave the outcome in His hands.
When rejection comes, we can remember that success is not measured by people’s responses but by our obedience to the Lord.
Pray with me: Lord, help me to represent You faithfully whether I am accepted or rejected. Give me courage to speak Your truth and wisdom to leave the results in Your hands. Amen. ©
Love, Iriza
