Day 121 – The Kingdom has come near

Study Luke 10:9

“And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’” Luke 10:9

The mission of the seventy was beautifully simple. They were to heal the sick and proclaim that the Kingdom of God had come near. Their words and actions worked together. They didn’t just speak the message; they demonstrated it through acts of compassion and mercy.

Many people expected the coming Kingdom to arrive with displays of power and judgment. Yet Jesus revealed a kingdom marked by healing, restoration, and grace. Every person healed was a living illustration of what God’s rule looks like when it touches broken lives.

The kingdom was near because the King Himself was near. Jesus was coming, and the disciples were preparing the way. Their ministry pointed people toward Him.

The same principle applies today. While we may not all be called to perform miraculous acts of healing, we are called to reflect the heart of the King. A kind word, a helping hand, a listening ear, and a faithful witness all reveal something of God’s Kingdom to those around us.

People should encounter something of Jesus when they encounter us. Our lives should point beyond ourselves to the One who is still rescuing, restoring, and transforming lives.

Pray with me: Lord Jesus, let my life reflect the reality of Your Kingdom. May my words and actions point others to Your love, grace, and saving power. Amen. ©

Love, Iriza
