Day 3 – God’s Holiness

Hannah prayed: “No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.” 1 Samuel 2:2 NLT

Mary prayed: “For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me. He shows mercy from generation to generation to all who fear him.” Luke 1:49-50 NLT

A primary link to the holiness of God is through prayer. When praying, either as a community or just you, a conscious connection to the source of holiness is made. In both prayers we find the ladies acknowledging the holiness of God and as we incorporate this practice into our prayer lives, our hearts will become more holy as it is caught up in God’s beautiful holiness.

He called us to “be holy, for I am holy” not as an entrapment in our inadequacy (because we will never be holy like Him), but as an invitation to reflect His glory and light showing others the path of freedom. (1 Peter 1:15-16).

Your prayer life will deepen as you reflect on God’s holiness and develop a fascination with Who He is and why only He is holy.

Prayer: Lord, the angels proclaim your holiness for eternity and my heart and words echo theirs: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty! Who was, and is, and is to come! Every day I see something new about who You are and it is like a little piece of holiness revealed to me bit by bit. Thank You for allowing me to glimpse Your holiness and to praise You for it. Amen.
