Shoes give stability. Peace gives footing. When we know the Gospel, we are not easily shaken. Peace does not mean absence of conflict. It means stability in conflict. It means that even when you have to face conflict, fear, instability, or war, you know where your stability comes from. You are standing on the rock of faith in Jesus Christ. Is your footing unstable because you have drifted from the Gospel? Are you unstable due to forgetting where your footing should be? Are you lacking the security of knowing the Word, and it is shaking you? Just like your eyes should be focused on Jesus, so should your feet be secure in His peace. You can always be certain: if your footing is in Jesus’ peace, your feet will be stable, and God covers your back.

Prayer: Thank You, Jesus, for giving me peace to dress my feet in. Thank you for always being the rock that my feet can be stable on. Amen.
