A Ruth Relationship – Day 22
Loyalty
“The Lord bless you, my daughter!” Boaz exclaimed. “You are showing even more family loyalty now than you did before, for you have not gone after a younger man, whether rich or poor.” Ruth 3:10
Our heroine was in a new country, a new work, and a lot of eligible young man she could choose from. A whole new beginning of a new life as a fresh breath of air from what she has been through. God gave her a brand-new start on her life and instead of going wild, she remained loyal. There are times God places us in a field for a season or two where we need to work hard at gleaning every day. This could be employment where you need to work physically hard or it’s very stressful. It also applies to our spiritual life. Frequently I hear how quiet God is or complaints about what they must do for the Lord. But this is the time God has placed you in His field to test your loyalty. Oh, how Ruth was loyal! Boaz blessed her specifically for her loyalty.
Are you willing to work hard, day after day, season after season without complaint? Would you be loyal to your Master and stay in his field?
Ruth Relationship Advice: God is looking for a character of loyalty.
Prayer: Father, it’s not always easy in the field You’ve placed me. And sometimes the seasons feel long and unendurable. Teach me, Lord, to work without complaint and to nurture a character of loyalty. Amen.
