Listen – Day 1
Be still
“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” Psalms 46:10
We work hard to find God, searching for Him in the pages of the Bible, soaking up His truths, studying scripture and memorizing passages until we know them by heart. But do we hear His heart? Do we recognise His fingerprints upon the pages? The men and women in the Bible were also His sons and daughters, His children whom He loved and pursued and wanted to be with, just like us. They aren’t unfamiliar to you. Their stories, their mistakes and their trails are yours too. They heard God’s voice. They listened. They conquered and overcame because of their obedience to God’s voice.
God is always speaking. Signs and wonders roar His majestic voice over this world announcing His presence. And because of His love for us and the direct relationship we can have with Him through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, He speaks directly to us too. We need to become still. Not quiet, still. In our spirit and know that He is God. To lean into His voice in the stillness.
This devotional was written to take you on a journey to find your unique way to listen to God. To hear Him above all and to understand how He speaks to you in His unique way. To learn, understand and activate your gift of hearing.
Prayer: Father, I pray that this devotional will assist everyone reading this to hear Your voice, to know it’s You speaking and to understand their own gift of listening. Thank You for speaking always and that in any situation we can listen to You. Amen. ©
