Day 1 – Seasons for a reason
Seasons for a reason
“There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven” Ecclesiastes 3:1 (AMP)
Every year we plant a new tree to celebrate the passing of winter and to embrace spring. During our time in the garden planting our new tree for this year, my eye caught the Quince Tree we planted last year and my heart broke, by the look of things, it was dead and had to be removed.
We planned to remove the tree over the weekend as we were to cut off and clean up all the lifeless remainders of the harsh and cold winter we had. One evening my husband called me and asked me to have a closer look at our dead Quince Tree – small green buds were sprouting out on the branches and before the end of the week, our tree was green and had tiny leaves everywhere! What I thought to be dead was alive and growing!
Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us about seasons and how everything has an appointed time and purpose. Just as the seasons of nature have an important part to play on our planet and our survival, likewise the seasons of life play an important part in our divine purpose and calling.
The Quince Tree became a reminder of God’s love and the ability to bring life and hope into seemingly dead situations. Join me for the next few days as we look at seasons, especially the winter season.
“Every season is one of becoming, but not always one of blooming. Be gracious with your ever-evolving self.” — B. Oakman
Prayer: Father God thank You for seasons, maybe not always easy but surely part of Your plan for us. Thank You for bringing life after the winter seasons and thank You Holy Spirit for preparing our hearts in order to receive your word and revelation regarding the seasons in our life. Amen
