Day 13 – I am PROSPEROUS

“Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].” 3 John 1:2
Growing up and living in the world, our perspective of what prosperous means has been skewed, limiting us to a thinking that being prosperous means only one thing and that is having money and possessions and esteem. But getting to know God, we come to realise that it is true that we know only in part and that His thoughts are not our thoughts. After having much and losing much, you come to the realisation that there is more to life than what you have and what people think of you, there is a calling to a higher richness that no money can buy. You start to treasure the abstract more than what you can see and revelling in love and peace more than in what the world has to offer. It is a place where your soul comes in line with your spirit and the gifts of power, love and self-control become coveted assets and when this happens, you know that you are truly rich. Our prospering is not limited to the physical, we have a treasure chest of wisdom, understanding and knowledge that far exceeds the world and allows us to have victory in all areas of our lives and this is the most prosperous you can be in this pinprick of time and space in eternity.
Prayer: Father, You are the owner of the cattle on a thousand hills, the whole creation belongs to You, physical wealth is not the ultimate attainment, but what is, is the currency which is more valuable than what any money can buy – peace, contentment, love. May You find that we begin to look past what this world has to offer and see the multitude of gifts that You have for us and strive for them. In Jesus name. Amen
