Day 16 – The Way

“I tell you the truth, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber!” John 10:1 NLT and “Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NLT

No one can sneak into Heaven, whether the person does all the good in the world. The best part about Jesus being the Way as the Gospel of John illustrates, is that God doesn’t expect you to go in based on your own abilities and works because He is also the Good Shepherd who loves, leads, and lays his life down for his sheep.

During this festive season, listen to the altogether wonderful voice of Jesus, the Way – rejecting all others – and enter through the Way. Pray for those God places on your heart to find their way to the Way.

Prayer: Father, thank You that through Jesus, being the Way, You point us towards You. Open my ears to hear the voice of Jesus, our Shepherd, and not rely on my abilities and works. Amen.
