Day 219 – Malachi: The faithful few
“I the LORD do not change. So you, the descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.” Malachi 3:6 NIV
Read Malachi 3:16 to Malachi 4:6
God loves His people even when they ignore or disobey Him. He has great blessings for those who love Him, and His love never ends. This is a certainty we can tie to our hearts. Because of this great love, He hates hypocrisy and careless living, which denies Him the relationship He wants to have with us. What we give and how we live reflect the sincerity of our love for God.
God had every reason to completely destroy the people of this world who constantly turned away from Him to follow after the lusts of this world. But there are those, the faithful few (the remnant), who chose Him above all. And because of these acts of love towards Him, God’s love for the faithful is demonstrated by the Messiah’s coming. God’s love has no boundaries, and Jesus came for every person. The faithful and the sinner. You and I, too.
Lovely one, when you feel you stand alone in your faith, remember that God will never leave you nor forsake you, and your choice to be faithful to Him might save all those around you.
Prayer: Father, thank you for loving us so much that you did not destroy humanity, but instead gave Your Son, Jesus Christ, as a final sacrifice for sin, opening a way for us to have a relationship with you born out of love. Thank You for loving us first. Amen.
