Day 24 – Operating in the Gift of Hearing

“’𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘢𝘵 𝘚𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘢𝘮𝘶𝘦𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘤𝘭𝘦.” 1 𝘚𝘢𝘮𝘶𝘦𝘭 3:21

To begin operating the gift of hearing, it is important to develop a system of stewardship. One of the most effective ways is to document what you hear, through journaling or writing down impressions. Recording what God says is a sign of reverence, showing that you take His Word seriously. It also allows you to revisit past notes when the Holy Spirit reminds you of something spoken before, confirming His consistency and faithfulness.

Confidence grows when you learn to posture your heart as Samuel did: “𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘬, 𝘓𝘰𝘳𝘥, 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨.” This simple prayer opens your spirit to receive. As you hear, don’t force what you’ve received on others. Share a portion, a nugget, and allow God to work with it in their lives. Often, the smallest seed of His Word can bear the greatest fruit.

If uncertainty arises, pray for confirmation. God is not offended by your desire to test what you’ve heard; He welcomes it. Search the Scriptures to see how His Word aligns with what you received. Remember, God will never speak something that contradicts His written Word.

Confidence as a hearer is not about volume or frequency. It is about obedience. The more you obey, the more you will recognize His voice, and the more authority you will carry in communicating it.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the ability to activate this beautiful gift of spiritual hearing. Please guide the spiritual hearers in Your Body to steward their gift well, to document Your Word faithfully, and to grow in confidence as they hear Your voice in their lives. Amen. ©
