Day 100 – Sleeping in the presence of divinity

Study Luke 9:32-33

“But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep; and when they were fully awake, they saw His glory and the two men who stood with Him.” Luke 9:32

Even in the midst of a heavenly, earth-shaking revelation, the disciples struggled with human weakness. While Jesus was transfigured in blazing light, Peter and his companions were heavy with sleep. How often do we, too, slumber through the miraculous, missing the profound manifestations of God’s presence because we are weighed down by the flesh’s fatigue?

When Peter finally woke and saw the glorious scene, he blurted out a suggestion to build three tabernacles – one for Jesus, one for Moses, and one for Elijah – treating Jesus merely as an equal among great prophets. But human religious ideas must always yield to divine revelation.

Pray with me: Lord Jesus, forgive me for sleeping through the spiritual awakenings You place in my life. Wake my soul from spiritual slumber so I may behold Your glory with clear eyes. Amen. ©

Love, Iriza
