Day 1 – Send me

“Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 NLT

At this very moment, if God should tell you to leave everything and go do something for Him, are you ready? Really ready? I’ve heard people pray these very words “Lord, send me” only to hear them say later “I am not ready or equipped to do this”. Our readiness to act should not be bound by thoughts we have of ourselves or our capability to do what is needed, but by our obedient fear of the Lord and our love for Him to sacrifice our comfort zones for the good of the Kingdom of Heaven.

“Send me” can apply to going on a missionary adventure or just hugging a stranger and telling them Jesus loves them. Being ready for God is to be ready to do anything He requires, even when we think it is a little strange or something we never think we can achieve. But our God is limitless! Your smile and kind words to a stranger might be the thing she needed to know that she is not invisible and God sees her through you. Your readiness to venture into unknown territory to spread the Gospel might be the one thing that saves an entire nation. Me and you, dear sister, are the feet taking the Good News to those God sends us to.

Join me as we explore our readiness through the adventures of Apostle Paul in this devotional. I’m ready!

Prayer: Father, today I want to ask forgiveness for the times I did not do something because I felt ill-equipped or thought I cannot achieve what You ask of me. I believe You are a limitless God and that my faith in You is stronger than the obstacles I think are in my way. Holy Spirit, take our hand through this devotional and show us the truth of what we “think” is stopping us to be ready. Thank You for the divine opportunities You give us to reach people with the love of Jesus and may we always be ready to act for You. Amen.
