Day 112 – The cost of following Jesus
Study Luke 9:57-58
“And Jesus said to him, ‘Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.’” Luke 9:58
As they walked along the road, a man boldly volunteered to follow Jesus wherever He went. But Jesus tested the reality of his commitment by exposing the cost: the Son of Man had nowhere to lay His head. Jesus had no earthly luxury, property, or permanent comfort to offer the traveller.
Following Christ is not measured by material ease or worldly security. It requires a willingness to let go of our earthly attachments and find our true, unshakeable home in Him alone.
Pray with me: Lord Jesus, I want to follow You wherever You lead, even when the road is hard. Detach my heart from earthly comforts and anchor my security in You. Amen. ©
Love, Iriza
