Day 12 – Baal-hermon

“These are the nations: the Philistines (those living under the five Philistine rulers), all the Canaanites, the Sidonians, and Hivites living in the mountains of Lebanon from Mount Baal-hermon to Lebo-hamath.” Judges 3:3 NLT

Geographically located to the east of Lebanon lies Baal-hermon. (Probably it may be the same as Mount Hermon, or one of its three peaks according to scholars.) As such it symbolizes exalting and means lord of destruction or a curse.

The Word teaches extensively about curses and the strategy the enemy love to use is to make you believe you are cursed. Especially when things in life are just not heading in the direction you imagined. I am not implying curses do not exist in our modern life – the enemy merely uses the thought of it to be exalting – like a mountain peaking over your life, consuming your thoughts. More often than not, the belief that we are cursed, hinders us from walking freely in the truth.

God’s strategy is simple: know the Truth! “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” John 8:32 (NLT). You only get to learn the truth when you spend time reading the Bible. To understand the truth is to understand the Truth-giver. Jesus is the ultimate Truth and He will set you free from this mindset or curse if you only ask Him. No rites or rituals. Just Jesus. “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” John 8:36 (NLT).

Prayer: Father, thank You that through the Truth who is Jesus, we are set free indeed. We can walk in liberty because of Jesus and that He broke the curse of the law and sin over our lives. Father, please show us when it truly is a curse or the Baal-hermon strategy making us believe we are cursed. Today, I declare that I believe in Your Son, Jesus Christ my redeemer, and believe in the Truth of the Gospel and my salvation, and that in this Truth, the mindset of any and all is broken by the blood of Jesus. Amen.
