Day 176 – Joel: The day of the Lord
“But Judah will be filled with people forever, and Jerusalem will endure through all generations. I will pardon my people’s crimes, which I have not yet pardoned; and I, the Lord, will make my home in Jerusalem with my people.” Joel 3:20-21 NLT
Read Joel 2:28 to Joel 3:21
Joel predicted the time when God would pour out His Holy Spirit on all people. It would be the beginning of new and fresh worship of God by those who believe in Him, as well as the beginning of judgment on all who reject that God is in control. Justice and restoration are in His hands. The Holy Spirit confirms God’s love for us just as he did for the first Christians (Acts 2).
God stands ready to forgive and restore all those who would come to Him and repent (turn away) from sin. God wants to shower His people with His love and restore a proper relationship with Him. Forgiveness comes by turning towards God, and it is never too late to receive His forgiveness.
Prayer: Father, thank You that even through the gloom of the destruction of prophecies, You always give hope. Not just for the time it was spoken, but for our future. Thank You for the Holy Spirit guiding us in a fresh worship and adoration of You. Amen.
