Day 25 โ How to be still

By now, we have established that Sabbath rest is important and part of the Biblical principles to follow as believers. As members of the New Covenant through Jesus Christ, there arenโt any hard and fast rules other than we take it and rest. With this sanctified and holy rest day, we need to be still before the Lord.
I am a busy person and donโt really like to sit still. My gran used to tell me that idle hands are the devil’s work, and that shaped my continuous business. I had to break down this stronghold and repent for my constant business, which took precious time I couldโve spent in devotion. Being still did not come naturally, and I had to learn to ๐ฃ๐ฆ ๐ด๐ต๐ช๐ญ๐ญ. This stillness required isnโt sitting on the sofa with my hands folded neatly in my lap; itโs quieting your soul in the presence of the Lord. It refreshes your soul and equips you for the storms of life, keeping you grounded in His peace, focusing on the greatness of our Creator, and casting all your worries on the One who can carry them.
As we begin to observe the Sabbath rest and learn how to be still before God, the words of David, “๐๐ฆ ๐ด๐ต๐ช๐ญ๐ญ, ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ธ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ข๐ต ๐ ๐ข๐ฎ ๐๐ฐ๐ฅ,” will resonate in your soul, glorifying Him.
Prayer: Father, thank You that through Your Word, You teach us to be still. To quiet our souls in reflection of knowing who You are. Open our hearts in the stillness to connect with You intimately. Amen.
