Day 26 – She fears the Lord

“but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.” Proverbs 31:30b NLT

When I read the Proverbs 31-woman piece, I always feel so lacking and shortcomings.

“It would be rare to find a woman who excels in every aspect of this list, so it should not be used to compare or condemn, either oneself or another woman. Rather, this character should reflect the values and aspirations of the woman who walks in the fear of the Lord and godly wisdom.” (David Guzik)

What this woman has did not simply fall in her lap; it is her victory through wisdom – her hard-won reward. She seeks the help of God and that is where her strength comes from. This means she has a relationship with God and knows how to use the “sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:17 NLT

The word “strength” in Proverbs 31:17 is used in other places for great and heroic victories (as in Exodus 15:2 and 1 Samuel 2:10).

I feel that if you have accomplished at least one of any of the items on the list, you are victorious and have accomplished much.

Yes, our God is a loving and merciful God, so we don’t need to be perfect – we just need to have a relationship with Him.

Prayer: Thank you, Abba Father that your mercy is so great that by just having a true relationship with You and searching Your will daily everything else will fall into place. To be a better version of ourselves and perfect in Your sight through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice. Amen
