Day 275 – Ephesians: Unity in Christ
“Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.” Ephesians 1:11 NLT
Read Ephesians 1:1 to Ephesians 3:21
According to God’s eternal, loving plan, He directs, carries out, and sustains our salvation. When we respond to Christ’s love by trusting in Him, His purpose becomes our mission. Because God, through Christ, paid our penalty for sin and forgave us, we have been reconciled to Him. We are part of a new community, society, and family, making us ambassadors of the Kingdom of Heaven. Being united with Christ means that we should treat one another as family members. As we become united with Christ in our personal relationship with Him, we should have no divisions and no basis for discrimination towards each other, and work to live in harmony.
In Ephesians, Paul encourages all Christians to practice wise, dynamic Christian living because having the privilege to be united with Him means having the responsibility to live and act accordingly. God provided His Holy Spirit to enable us to live this way and to love the people of this world like Jesus does.
Submitting to Jesus Christ as your personal saviour unites us with the Son of God. He longs to have an intimate relationship with You to become more like Him and less like the world.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the gift of Jesus Christ as our saviour and that we can have a relationship with You through Him, like You intended right at the beginning of Genesis. Thank You for the Holy Spirit guiding us to become more like Jesus and to love like Him. Amen.
