Day 4 – Path

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

Whatever way we walk or the direction we take, we use our feet to do it. It is very important that our feet are protected. Firstly they need to be guided by God’s word. Secondly, the path that they going to walk, will be illuminated. Thirdly, they will need a pair of good and comfortable shoes!

Feet get sore or hurt, depending on the surface they are walking. They even can get burnt if the surface is too hot.  To me it’s so special when the Israelites were in the desert, walking their 40 years of disobedience, God provided for their feet. Their sandals were never worn out. They also never complained that their feet hurt. They interestingly complained about some things but not their shoes.

God is telling us that with His Word (life) and his lamp (illumination) guiding our feet, He is also saying I will provide for you and care for you where you go.

“And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet.” Deuteronomy 29:5

Prayer: Father God thank you that you always have us covered. You always provide for us and you never let us walk alone, in Jesus’s Name, Amen.
