Day 132 – Proverbs: Wisdom for the young

Reading Proverbs 1:1 to Proverbs 9:18

The book of Proverbs opens with a clear statement of its purpose: to impart wisdom for godly living. In the first few chapters, Solomon instructs the youth of his day like a father advising his beloved child. While many of the proverbs in this section are directed toward the younger generation, the supporting principles are for all believers – male and female, young and old. Anyone beginning a journey to discover more wisdom will benefit from these nuggets of wisdom as you grow toward spiritual maturity. It is where you can discover the source and value of wisdom.

Prayer: Thank You, Father, that through these Proverbs we can see Your Words as You advise us, Your children. As we dig deeper into this book, please talk to our hearts and show us a way of living in truth and righteousness. Amen.
