God knows!

“Yes, I know” Boaz replied. ‘But I also know about everything you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband. I have heard how you left your father and mother and your own land to live here among complete strangers.” Ruth 2:11

When I pray, I tell God everything – and often I find myself thinking “But God knows everything, why am I telling Him all this?” The answer is simple, He wants You to tell Him. He wants your heart so invested in Him that communication through prayer becomes as easy as having a conversation with Him. Not only does He know what you are telling, but He also knows the unspoken words. He sees and knows what we do, and the reason we do it. Whether it is from a God filled, loving heart or a selfish one and He lovingly guides us in the right direction.

I heard a pastor once say, when you pray and you are not to allowed to ask God for anything, nor thanking Him for anything, what will you pray? This opened my eyes, (and heart) that prayer is a conversation with God, and even if He already knows, He wants to hear your beautiful voice and account of what you are telling Him.

Ruth Relationship Advice: Communication through prayer builds a strong relationship – even though God knows.

Prayer: Father, thank You that I can tell you any and everything. And even if you know it all, You patiently listen, guide me and correct me when I am wrong. Thank You that You know. Amen.
