Day 30 – Diligent Growth
“You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies and his statutes, which he has commanded you.” Deuteronomy 6:17
The key to tending and watching in any garden, vineyard, grove, or field is the good old-fashioned virtue of diligence. Those diligent in spiritual discipline and habits stand apart from those not as committed. We, as the Body of Christ, ministers, and teachers of God’s Word, should diligently keep the commandments of the Lord our God. Diligence gives glory to God and motivates us to grow in all areas of our lives and ministries.
Diligence begins with a focus on God’s Word. It is not a question of what you know, but the truth you know. Growth can only happen when we are rooted securely in the Truth of the Word. Working and learning for the greater good of the Kingdom.
If you feel your growth has been stubbed or cut off from the Gardener, I urge you to diligently seek His will for the place He needs you to be, not where you think you should be. Maybe it’s time to say goodbye to a garden and embrace the new field God has prepared especially for you.
Prayer: Father, thank You for teaching us the importance of Your gardens, vineyards, groves, and fields in Your Word. Hold us to the virtue of diligence to constantly search Your Word to tend and watch the areas You gave us so we can grow for Your glory and honor. Amen.
