Day 24 – Exactly where you need to be
“When the people recognized Jesus, the news of his arrival spread quickly throughout the whole area, and soon people were bringing all their sick to be healed. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.” Matthew 14:35-36 NLT
You may have started with the best intentions to reach where you thought you were supposed to be—rowing and fighting hard. Through it all, you quickly learn your dependency on Jesus, realizing you need Him to reach your destination. Suddenly, you find yourself not in the place you thought you should be, and the stubbornness of your humanity kicks in as you start to fight God because you think you are in the wrong place. Have you ever considered that you are exactly where you need to be? The apostles headed for Bethsaida and ended up ministering in Gennesaret, where they BEGGED for healing. Lovely one, when Jesus changes the direction, trust Him. Follow Him. You are exactly where you need to be.
Prayer: Father, with this last devotional I pray that You will soften hearts hardened through stubbornness. I pray that You will show each person they are exactly where they need to be. If they ended up in Spar instead of Checkers, You have a reason for it, because someone there might be begging for an answer. Begging for a miracle. Open our eyes to Your divine workings and open our hearts to trust You even in the small things. Thank You for revealing this miracle to us and opening Your Word so we have a better understanding of Your grace. Thank You, Lord, for teaching us to walk on water. Amen.
