Day 1 – Celebrating YOU!

Day 1 – Celebrating YOU!
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9 NLT
At the start of August, I often hear the comment, “Why do women have a whole month?” My response is usually, “Why not?” When I sat down to put together this devotional, I thought about us as women. In a single day, we manage to handle a career, maybe a side-line small business, the household, and family. We are daughters, wives, sisters, mothers, aunts, nieces, stepmoms, and godparents. Our tasks normally include getting the household ready for the day, planning, replanning, packing lunches, getting everyone where they need to be, going to work, cooking, assisting with homework, acting as an Uber-mom, ensuring entertainment for the young ones, being caregivers, and above all—keeping our patience while juggling all of this with a smile. Would you not agree that we deserve a dedicated year?
Galatians says we should not get tired of doing what is good. When I read this verse for the first time, I thought “Lord, did you see my To-do list?” But when all we do and sacrifice for others flows from a heart of love connected to the Heart of God, we will reap a harvest of blessings. Whatever you do, lovely woman, do not give up!
I know we get tired – maybe tired is a bit understated – exhausted! And I understand there are times you feel unappreciated. My dear, beloved sister in Christ… this collaboration for Women’s Month is especially for you! Join us as we celebrate YOU through glorifying God.
Prayer: Father, there are times that I am so tired. My tired is tired. But I know, I find my strength in You. You are the sustenance that keeps me doing what I do, and doing it good for the honor and glory of Your Name. During this month dedicated to women, I pray that You will touch each woman’s heart. Affirming to her who You say she is and how precious she is to You. That all the good she does matters to You, even if no one else sees it. Thank You, Lord, that You made us women. Amen.
Love, Pastor Iriza
