Day 23 – Changed destination

“After they had crossed the lake, they landed at Gennesaret.” Matthew 14:34 NLT

Did they reach Bethsaida? No. Instead, they reached land at Gennesaret, meaning beauty and fertility. Gennesaret has quite an interesting translation. It’s called the paradise of Galilee with the Jordan River running through it. Native to Galilee was Jesus: the most famous Galilean we know. Did He not tell the man on the cross He would be with Him in paradise?

When the destination was changed after the miracle, Jesus brought them to Gennesaret – emphasising that He is the destination… Our eternal Paradise. At our destination, we will be witnesses of the beauty of what God has done through the miracle works in our situations. May what we witness fall on fertile soil for His seed to grow and may the growth of the Fruit of the Spirit flourish in the fertility of Paradise.

Prayer: Father, thank You that our destination through the storm is the Paradise who is Jesus. May we see the beauty of His miracle work in our lives and our testimony of His greatness be fertile and grow into Fruit of the Spirit as we declare the mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.
