Day 4 – Alpha & Omega
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8
Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and Omega is the last. If we take it for an English audience, it’s from A to Z. But what Jesus is saying in revelation about the written Word (Logos in Greek) is true about the living Word (Rhema in Greek). From the epistle of John, we learn “In the beginning was the Word… and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us” In the beginning Jesus is the Word of God. And He is God’s final Word for all eternity. H.G. Wells, a noted historian compiled a list of the ten greatest men of history, and the top scorer on this list was Jesus Christ. But Jesus Christ is not a man to be listed in any hall of fame. He is the Living Word, the Living God, the Alpha & Omega.
Prayer: Father, thank You for being the Alpha and the Omega. Thank You Jesus for being the Living Word from the beginning unto eternity. I praise You, my Living God for You alone are Worthy of ALL praise. Amen
PS… Can you remember when God became the Alpha in your life? When the written Word became the Living Word? Write this down in your journal as part of your testimony.
