Day 3 – ABBA
“And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” Galatians 4:6-7
Have you ever thought of calling God Daddy? Abba is the Aramaic word meaning Daddy, Father. It’s a term of warm affection, intimacy, and respect for one’s father. Now, to some, that may sound like an irreverent way to address God, but Jesus called God, “Our Father” in Matthew 6:9 and He gave us that same right. We, as His children can call God of the Universe, Abba. Father. Daddy. We can go to God our Father, our Daddy with everything and anything in our lives. Philippians 4:6 urges us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” When the curtain tore with the crucifixion, ALL barriers between God and us were torn with it, opening a way to have a personal relationship with God our Heavenly Father. Yes, God knows your name, you are that important because you are His child.
Prayer: Abba Father, thank You for being my Daddy! Thank You that Your arms are forever open to catch me when I run to You. Thank you for the privilege to call You ABBA! Amen
PS… Note down the areas of your life that you want to tell God about, even the smallest thing, and call upon Him: ABBA!
