Day 1 – The Gift of Immanuel

“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14
Immanuel’s roots run deep in the Bible, originating from the book of Isaiah in the Old Testament where we find the prophecy foretelling the birth of Jesus Christ with the name Immanuel. This prophecy was fulfilled with Jesus’ birth, testifying to the fulfilment of God’s promises.
Immanuel highlights the gift of connection between God and humanity, an unbreakable and everlasting bond. It is a reminder that God, our Father, desires a relationship with us and bridges the gap between the divine and the human. As we celebrate Jesus’ birth, we remember the extraordinary connection that Immanuel represents, offering us the opportunity to experience God’s love and grace.
Prayer: God, our Father, thank You that we can take the time to reminisce about the importance of the prophecy of Jesus’s birth, the fulfilment and importance of our relationship with our living and loving Father. Amen.
